[South Korea] Minimum Wage Determination Again Falls Into Confusion

On January 9, the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference to speak out against the government’s plan to change the minimum wage determination mechanism.

The South Korean government’s plan to revise the minimum wage determination mechanism announced in January last year failed to pass through the National Assembly and this year’s minimum wage determination fell into confusion again. With the minimum wage determination for 2021 fast approaching, the government’s plan is to establish another committee. Business Korea details how they intend to avoid the pitfalls of the past.
